Lodges and tented camps in the Omo Valley
From luxury tented camps near the Mago River to community-run guesthouses in Jinka and Turmi, every verified Omo Valley stay on Ethiopia Bookings is filterable by tribe, market day and base town.
Where to base yourself in the Omo Valley
The Omo is huge and roads are slow. Most itineraries split nights between Arba Minch (best for arrival flights and the Konso highlands), Jinka (gateway to the Mursi) and Turmi (best for Hamer market days). Luxury tented camps add a fourth option near the river itself.
- Arba Minch — flight access, twin lakes, Konso cultural landscape
- Jinka — Mursi villages, South Omo Research Centre
- Turmi — Hamer territory, bull-jumping ceremonies, market days
- Murle / Kangaten — wild luxury tented camps along the Omo River
Travelling responsibly
We work with operators and lodges that pay community fees direct, employ local guides and follow ethical photography guidelines. Ask us before booking if you want your stay to channel a meaningful share to the village you're visiting.
