1. Agreement
By using Ethiopia Bookings (ethiopiabookings.com), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. 'You' means any user — traveller, property owner or visitor. 'We', 'us' and 'Ethiopia Bookings' refers to [Company Name], registered in Ethiopia.
2. What Ethiopia Bookings Is
Ethiopia Bookings is a marketplace platform that facilitates accommodation bookings between travellers and accommodation providers (property owners). We are not an accommodation provider. We do not own or operate any of the properties listed on the platform. We facilitate the booking transaction and provide technology, verification and customer support services.
3. Traveller Terms
- Accurate information: you must provide accurate personal details when making a booking. Bookings made with false information may be cancelled without refund.
- Age requirement: you must be at least 18 years old to make a booking.
- Payment: you agree to pay the total amount shown at booking confirmation. This includes room rate, service fee and any applicable taxes.
- Cancellations and refunds: governed by the cancellation policy displayed on each property listing and confirmed at booking. See our Cancellation Policy for details.
- Behaviour: you agree to treat properties and their staff with respect. Damage to property may result in additional charges. Serious misconduct may result in removal from the platform.
- Reviews: reviews submitted must be based on genuine personal experience. False or misleading reviews will be removed. We moderate all reviews.
4. Property Owner Terms
- Accuracy: you confirm that all information in your listing — description, photos, amenities, pricing and availability — is accurate and up to date.
- Availability: you confirm that rooms listed as available are genuinely available. If you cannot honour a booking, you must notify Ethiopia Bookings and the guest immediately and we will find alternative accommodation where possible.
- Commission: you agree to pay Ethiopia Bookings a commission of 10–15% on completed bookings as agreed at registration. Commission is deducted from the payout.
- Response time: for request-to-book properties, you agree to respond to booking requests within 24 hours.
- Compliance: your property must comply with all applicable Ethiopian laws, including registration, safety, and taxation requirements. You are responsible for your own tax obligations.
5. Platform Rules
- No circumvention: users may not attempt to bypass Ethiopia Bookings's booking system to avoid commission (e.g. by contacting guests to arrange payment off-platform). This will result in permanent account suspension.
- Prohibited content: listings and reviews may not contain: false information, discriminatory language, personal attacks, content that violates Ethiopian law.
- Intellectual property: property owners grant Ethiopia Bookings a licence to use their photos and listing content for platform and marketing purposes. Ethiopia Bookings retains ownership of platform design, code and content.
6. Limitations of Liability
Ethiopia Bookings facilitates bookings but is not liable for: the quality of accommodation (beyond what verification has confirmed), the conduct of property owners or guests, cancellations by property owners (we will assist with alternatives but cannot guarantee equivalent accommodation), force majeure events, or losses arising from inaccurate information provided by property owners.
Our maximum liability to any user for any booking-related claim is limited to the amount paid through Ethiopia Bookings for that booking.
7. Dispute Resolution
In the first instance, disputes between travellers and property owners should be raised through the Ethiopia Bookings dispute resolution process (via the platform or WhatsApp support). We will mediate within 5 business days. Unresolved disputes are subject to the laws of Ethiopia and the jurisdiction of Ethiopian courts.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. We will notify registered users by email 30 days before significant changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
